David Lee Brooks Obituary August 16, 2012 David Lee Brooks The Moultrie Observer David Lee Brooks, 54, of Moultrie, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at his home. A memorial service, with military honors, will be 2 p.m., today, Aug. 18, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Parker officiating. Interment will be in Andersonville National Cemetery in Andersonville, Ga. Born Sept. 3, 1957, in Tecumseh, Mich., he was the son of Leburn Edgar Brooks and the late Betty Thomas Brooks Tirb. He served in the United States Army and was a self-employed truck driver. He built and raced late model cars throughout Georgia and Alabama. He was of the Methodist faith. "Our Pops will be forever loved and never forgotten", his family said. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Glenn Edward Tirb. Survivors, in addition to his father of Ohio, include his wife, Autricia Celeschi Brooks of Moultrie; five sons, David Lee "Champ" Brooks II and wife Gracie of Sumner, Ga., Joshua Brooks, Kincaid Atkinson and wife Mandy, Lance Atkinson and Justin Glass, all of Ocilla, Ga.; four daughters, Tiffanie Spires, Courtnie Brooks and Serina Glass, all of Ocilla and Stephanie Cooper Coffee and husband Brandon of Pavo; three brothers, Glenn E. Tirb and wife Dawn of Longmont, Colo., Richard Tirb of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Randy Tirb of Calif.; and ten grandchildren. The family will greet friends immediately following the memorial service, on Saturday, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
